Why It Does Not Work for You Part 2: Where’s Waldo?
When my kids were little they loved the ‘Where’s Waldo’ series of children’s books. Sometimes they would sit there for hours finding ole’ Waldo, page after page. Oddly enough, I have found that in this latter half of my adult life that I seem to be helping adults “find Waldo”, much to my surprise.
Of course, it’s not literal “Waldo”, but rather metaphorically speaking: the Holy Spirit.
Over the years I have seen that about 95% of the time when I would ask Christians, “where’s God”… they would point to the sky or say “in Heaven”. When I would then ask them where is the Holy Spirit… they would go silent. This is a major problem and is directly related to the lack of faith and power I have seen in the Church in America. They feel distant and their lack of strong faith and power reflect that.
When we realize that we are possessed (yes, possessed) by the SPIRIT of the living God, and start realizing that He therefore does not “come down to us” but rather “comes out of us”, this finding of the metaphorical “Waldo” has a remarkable effect on our faith as well as our operation with Holy Spirit.
Years ago when He taught me this lesson, He also taught me how to release Him from within me, out into the atmosphere around me… with remarkable results. We know of people like Rodney Howard Browne, Kathryn Kuhlman, Maria Woodworth-Etter, David Hogan, and other atmospheric evangelists… but, few of us [so far] have realized that they are not special from the rest of us in any way!
…they just found “Waldo”.
Start reconditioning your thinking now to the realization that Holy Spirit is IN you, and wants to show you how to release Him out into the world around you with powerful results. Do this with enough focus, and it won’t be long before you can fill the atmosphere around you with the tangibly felt presence of the Lord whenever you feel like! It is a very powerful tool for evangelism and much more!
